Psychological Society of Ireland Media, Art & Cyberpsychology event

We’re delighted to be collaborating with the Psychological Society of Ireland’s Media, Art & Cyberpsychology group (SIGMAC) for a fun workshop entitled: ‘Psychology & Technology: A Collaborative Approach Between Research and Practice’.

This interactive workshop, being held on Thursday 18th November 2021 from 6pm–8 pm, invites researchers and practitioners with an interest in the intersection of psychology and technology to experience the Mixed Reality Therapy Room project first-hand.

This experiential software platform, designed to facilitate experiential psychological therapy, will serve as (a) an example of how interdisciplinary collaboration might be achieved and (b) participants will be invited to learn how the tool works with a view to incorporating it into their own research projects, using a further developed version of the tool clinically or contributing their skills to its open source development.

Further details about the workshop can be found at: https://www.psychologicalsociety.ie/event/Psychology–Technology:-A-Collaborative-Approach-Between-Research-and-Practice

Video series introducing the mixed reality therapy room

A picture speaks a thousand words and, as anyone who has attended a workshop or collaborated with us knows, we’ve had many thousands of words to speak about the mixed reality therapy project.

The whole point of taking an experiential approach to therapy, training and assessment is the emphasis on doing/experiencing, rather than just information.

This new series of 7 videos gives an introduction into the mixed reality therapy room platform focusing on providing an overview, demoing the system and process, considering three practical examples and looking at opportunities for further development.

This is the 1st of 7 videos that introduce the platform: you can find them all here

New website launched: mixedrealitytherapy.org

We’ve been working on the mixed reality therapy project for a few years now- with the underlying research behind it stretching back even further.

It has been great to show the code, hold workshops and collaborate with other likeminded professionals but now we’re happy to take a more publicly-focused step and launch our new website:

mixedrealitytherapy.org

We have a useful new video series as a helpful introduction to the project, and lots more content to come, so do please make use of the resources and feel free to share the link with anyone who might find it relevant.
